One simple step to good health.
One simple step to good health.
Most of us are facing some health issues
in today’s lifestyle. One of the most common issues is related to our digestive
system. Doctors say most of the internal diseases start from our digestive
system.
I have met so many people mostly in their
thirties are facing issues like constipation and indigestion. But now this
disease is so common even amongst young generation.
We all know that that it is required to
do exercise regularly to keep our internal system strong and work properly. But
we are living a lifestyle where it is very difficult to have time for exercise
daily. The basic rule of exercise says, we should exercise in the morning and
with an empty stomach. But we are so much busy with our daily work that it is
almost impossible to take your time out for exercise, especially in the
morning.
So friends, I am giving you an exercise
which you can practise any time of your day and you can do it even with your
stomach full.
The simplest but effective part of our
Indian yoga, that can help you to keep your digestive system work properly.
VAJRASANA:
Those
who sit in this Asana have a steady, firm pose. They cannot be easily shaken.
The knees are rendered very hard. The Meru Danda (Spinal Cord) becomes firm and
strong. This Asana resembles more or less the Namaz pose in which Muslims sit
for prayer.
TECHNIQUE
Keep
the soles of the feet on both sides of the anus i.e., place the thighs on the
legs one over the other and the soles on the buttocks. The calves must touch
the thighs. The part from the toe to the knee should touch the ground. The
whole burden of the body is put on the knees and ankles. In the beginning of
practice, you may feel a slight pain in the knee and ankle joints but it passes
off very quickly. Massage the paining parts and the two joints with the hands.
You can use a little Iodex or Amritanjan for rubbing. After the feet and the
knees, put both the hands straight on the knees. Keep the knees quite close.
Sit like this, keeping the trunk, neck and head in one straight line. This is
the most common Asana. You can sit in this Asana for a very long time
comfortably.
BENEFITS
If
you sit in this Asana for about 5 – 10 minutes immediately after food, the food
will be digested well. The nerves and muscles of the legs and thighs are
strengthened. Myalgia in the knees, legs, toes and thighs disappears. Sciatica
vanishes. Flatulence is removed. The stomach works vigorously. Very much
effective in constipation and acidity.
This
asana is very effective and I have personally experienced the effectiveness.
In
my early age I was facing digestive issues and I was not able digest even a
glass of milk or 2 boiled eggs. Now I have a habit of doing Vajrasana every day
after dinner and now I am living a normal life and not suffering from any
stomach related issues.
You
may feel some pain when you will start doing this asana but trust me, the pain
will disturb you only for few days. When you will make a habit of doing this,
you will experience the result only within first 10 days.
You
can practice this asana even on your bed or on the floor with a mat. Any asana
should not be practiced with the direct contact to the earth. While doing any
yoga asana, our body circulates positive energy to the effective body parts.
The direct contact to the earth may interrupt the circulation of the energy.
Try
to do this immediately after your dinner and lunch (if possible). You do not
need a proper exercise dress to practice this.
It is advisable to
consult your doctor before starting any kind of exercise or yogasana, if you
are suffering from any disease or if you are pregnant.
